I Love A Piano

— 28th November 2015 —

I don't really play the piano, but I'll play the part. This shot was set up by the Daily Adertiser to promote a show I'm directing about a piano. Obviously. (FYI I was sure to list myself as 'Miss' in the article. You know, just in case...)

If you're in Wagga, be sure to come along to the School of Arts production of I Love A Piano at the Commercial Club, 1 - 6 December.

Throughout October and November, I've been back and forth on the train to good old Wagga Wagga to direct this ritzy lot for 'I Love A Piano'. Performed by the School of Arts, the show is a celebration of Irving Berlin's songbook and includes much-loved tunes such as White Christmas, Puttin' On The Ritz, Cheek to Cheek and There's No Business Like Show Business.

'I Love A Piano' will run from 1 - 6 December at the Commercial Club in Wagga.

Champions of Change

— 19th November 2015 —

Somehow, amidst the back and forth to Wagga for rehearsals and Fringe on Tour commitments, I have also kept up my part-time job as Program Producer of Theatre Network Victoria - a national service organisation for the professional theatre industry. My role includes advocacy, networking, connecting and communications for the sector.

One of the key elements of our program is the Victorian Theatre Forum. I was once again the event producer for this important sector gathering and thoroughly enjoyed designing the program and hosting our members as they discussed topics related to our theme for 2015: Champions of Change.

It's been a tumultuous year for the arts sector, so it was wonderful to see everyone banding together, finding ways to move forward. We look forward to next year!

The sixth annual Victorian Theatre Forum took place on Tuesday 17 November at Malthouse Theatre, Melbourne.
