Bethany regularly delivers drama and playwriting workshops* for local councils, community groups and schools across Australia, and has been a guest teacher at Berlin Metropolitan School. Bethany is also available to coach acting and presentation skills privately, in Melbourne or online.
*Theatre workshop topics include: Devising, Characterisation, Stagecraft, Improvisation, Introduction to Acting, Playwriting, Working with Text, and more.
Projects include Rehearsal Director for Famous Cases, Bottled Snail Productions, Supreme Court of Victoria (2018); Dramaturg for a youth theatre project at Alrowwad Arts Centre, Bethlehem (2017); Director for I Love a Piano, Wagga Wagga School of Arts Community Theatre (2015); Guest Dramaturg for First Things First creative development with Joseph Simons, National Tour (2015); Assistant Co-director/Devising Coach for an adaptation of The Red Tree at Caulfield Grammar School (2014); Director for numerous student productions at Charles Sturt University (2006 and 2007).
Commissions and Collaborations (Writer and/or Performer)
Bethany has collaborated as writer and/or performer on numerous works with Melbourne Youth Music, Australian National Academy of Music and Southern Cross Soloists which have been performed in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and broadcast on ABC Classic FM.
Bethany has written original songs for Reception: The Musical and was lyricist and co-composer for various tracks on the album, Waltzing With My Eyes. As a side project, Bethany writes and records original little ditties and raps for special occasions. Why shop when you can GiftRAP?
Presenting, keynote speaking, MC'ing, and facilitating with organisations including: Melbourne Fringe, Adelaide Fringe, Regional Arts Victoria, Drama Victoria, RACV, Victorian College of the Arts, Showcase Victoria, Catholic Care and Theatre Network Australia. She also has experience as a wedding celebrant, Eisteddfod adjudicator and tertiary lecturer.
Industry events such as ‘Young People and The Arts’ (Malthouse and Australian Theatre for Young People 2018); Indie Advice Salon (Arts House 2016); Creative Industries Engagement Forum (Arts Centre Melbourne 2015); the Victorian Theatre Forum (Melbourne Theatre Company 2014, Malthouse 2015, Arts House 2016, Arts Centre Melbourne 2018); Unleashed Awards, Foundation for Young Australians (2013); and Community Open Day, South Melbourne Town Hall (2012).
