Bethany makes character and story-based theatre inspired by the everyday. Nothing is funnier or more beautiful than real life and true stories. She has performed her own works in more than 70 venues across Australia.

Bethany is an award-winning writer and performer based in Melbourne.
Her original work, Reception: The Musical – a cabaret comedy collaboration with award-winning pianist Peter de Jager - was named Best Cabaret at the 2014 Melbourne Fringe Festival Awards and received two nominations for 'Best Writing' and 'Best Original Songs' at the 2014 Green Room Awards. Inspired by her real life experiences as an administration assistant, the show has enjoyed sold-out extended seasons at The Butterfly Club in Melbourne and in venues across regional Victoria and New South Wales. Reception: The Musical was selected by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) for the 2015 VCE Playlist and is available for purchase from Australian Plays. Reception: The Musical will tour Australia with Critical Stages in October 2017.
Bethany's first play, The Weather and Your Health, received Green Room nominations for 'Best New Writing for the Australian Stage' and 'Best Independent Female Performer'. The show toured extensively throughout regional New South Wales and Victoria in 2011 with funding from Arts Victoria. The show then toured nationally in 2012 and was awarded the RAVE Touring Award from Regional Arts Victoria for 'outstanding contribution to regional arts and culture'. The Weather and Your Health appeared on the 2012 VCE Drama Playlist and is available for purchase from Australian Plays.
Born and raised in Dubbo, NSW, Bethany is a graduate of BA (Acting for Screen and Stage - Honours) at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
Finding her inspiration in the everyday, Bethany believes that nothing is funnier or more beautiful than real life and true stories. As a theatre-maker she is committed to creating new work for the Australian stage that is honest, uplifting and entertaining.
Bethany regularly juggles work as a teaching artist, writer, performer, director, speaker and facilitator, arts consultant, and creative producer. She conducts drama, acting, directing and playwriting workshops across Australia and was formerly a columnist for Australian theatre networking site, AussieTheatre.com - view her column archive here.
